Cousin Elle (4 mos.) Anna (9 mos.)

Eston (3 yrs.) giving Elle a kiss.
Girls just hanging out at Mimi's.

Eston funny: Travis cut himself shaving this morning and had a piece of tissue on his chin. Eston wanted to know why it was there. I told him that his dad had a booboo on his face. He asked, " Did he do that when he was shaving his crust off?" Guess whiskers are crust?

I thought of another funny that resembles the energy comment he made the other day. It was at Christmas when we were driving through my mom's neighborhood looking at lights. He saw a house that had lots of lights. He said they must not have any kids. I asked him why did he think that? I was thinking the opposite--that a house with kids would be more likely to go all out for Christmas. He said the house with lots and lots of lights didn't have kids because putting up all those lights is hard work and takes lots of time. Kids take up a lot of time and moms and dads don't have time to put up lights.

So, now I'm thinking do I say something that makes Eston think he takes up all my time and I have no energy and that's a bad thing? I sure hope not. He is right though, kids do that to you. But it's a great thing. So much fun!

Eston got to see a firetruck up close. We went to the Buford Volunteer Fire Dept spaghetti dinner a while back. As we were leaving, a fire fighter asked Eston if he wanted to sit in the truck. Of course he did! He also gave him a matchbox sized firetruck.

Funny Eston story. He said he didn't want to grow up. I asked him why? He replied, "Because I have lots of energy, and I like having energy. And you and Daddy don't ever have any energy." Ha! Can't argue with that.

Anna is crawling all over the house. She follows me around. My mom's house has a step up from the living room into the hall. She even mastered crawling up and down the step this past weekend. Anna is also a bit sassy. It'll be interesting to see how she turns out.

Anna waved at me today! She was sitting in this play saucer, and as I was waving at her, she raised her arm. My mom told me yesterday she did it to her. She's a tough audience. Like Miss Lilly says, "She makes us work for those smiles." Don't get me wrong, she's not an unhappy baby. Most of the time she's pretty content. She adores Eston. He can always make her smile and laugh unlike me, Travis, or anyone else. And on the other hand, Eston can really make her mad too. I was reading them a book the other night, and everytime Eston would touch the book, she would hit at his hand and raise her voice at him like she was yelling at him to not touch the book! Eston's a very sweet and quiet kid. I'm wondering if she will be bossing him around and ruling the roost. Here is Eston with my boots on playing a song for me. This kid constantly amazes me with his memory. We sold a vehicle back in the early fall. The other day, he was talking about "Daddy's friend, Allen." I had no idea who he was talking about. He told me he was the guy who bought the suburban. The guy came to our house to pick the truck up, so Eston met him. But only once was his name mentioned, and not since then. He's not a friend of Travis's. We don't know him. I would have never remembered the name 6 months later! Then again, Eston loves cars and trucks. May have had an impression on him.
He also loves to call Travis or Mimi on the phone and dial the number himself. He has memorized my phone number. Good thing I guess, if he ever gets lost, heaven forbid! Next we'll work on his address....
